Daily Announcements 11/30

Voyager Academy High School Daily Announcements November 30: 
  • On Wednesday, December 5 Voyager students will have thespecial opportunity to meet Brian Dawkins, the popular DJ from K97.5. In 2017, Brian was named by Source magazine as one of the 30 Most Influential Radio Personalities in America. Brian will be playing music and putting on a program in the gym during lunch. This program will be to promote the Durham Holiday Classic, a new basketball tournament that features all of Durham's high schools - including your Voyager Vikings boys and girls basketball teams! You don't want to miss this opportunity, so plan to bring your lunch on Wednesday if you normally go out. You will be able to eat your lunch in the gym. We just ask that you throw away your trash and be responsible for any mess.
  • The Math One Class is hosting a Holiday Market next Monday. Bring cash!
  • Students taking AP Literature in the Spring...Stop by Ms. Todd's Room, A149, to pick up your winter break assignments ASAP.
  • Please come out and support the VAHS Bass Assassins on Dec 7th at their barbecue fundraiser dinner. Plates are just $9 and can be purchased through the link on the VAHS homepage or by buying a ticket in room C115.

  • NHS is hosting a Holiday Dance this Saturday, Dec 1st from 7-10 at the elementary school. This dance is a Sadie Hawkins style dance and will feature an ugly sweater contest. Dress is casual so break out your favorite holiday apparel. Tickets are forsale every morning by the gym or at lunch in room C115. Cost is $5 in advance $7 at the door.
  • Senior Ads for the Expedition Yearbook are now on sale. You can design your ad at Prices start at $40. See Ms. Todd in A149 for more information. The deadline is December 15th.
  • Attention students who are interested in auditioning for the Spring Musical Cabaret... Auditions are being postponed until second semester. Again, there will be no auditions on Monday, December 3rd.  See Mrs. Hobgood, Mrs. Paradis, or Mrs. Clark-Stover for more information. 
  • Marcus Roman is running a backpack and toiletry drive for Gardian Ad Litem, a foster children program. Please donate any backpacks or toiletry items. You can bring them to Mr. Mills' classroom. Thank you for your support.
  • Good Afternoon Voyager! We have an important home basketball game on Tuesday, December 4th and we need to sell it out! Voyager will be playing Northern. This is the biggest game we will have this year and we challenge our student section to go viral that night! We need the home court advantage! We want to win this game. Let's make this a "Red Out" game! Come dressed in red and support our Vikings!
